Passion UA to field FaNg in place of Senzu at IEM Rio
Passion UA have announced that Justin “FaNg” Coakley will be stepping in for Mongolian player Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold at IEM Rio. ESL rules require Passion UA field more than one North American player, as they were the recipients of the event’s North America VRS invite.
Passion UA previously rostered two American players in Nicholas "nicx" Lee and Michael "Grim" Wince, but saw Grim depart for NRG last month. According to ESL Pro Tour Rule 2.7.3, Passion UA need “a plurality of players with citizenship from the relevant subregion” in order to attend Rio, which is why they’ve brought on FaNg to stand in for Senzu.
The Canadian most recently played for BOSS in the PGL Bucharest North America Closed Qualifier. As a former rifler for Complexity, FaNg will also be reuniting with IGL Ioannis 'Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou and coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen.
IEM Rio starts April 13th.
