FaZe flounder as they search for new coach and Major spot
FaZe have been knocked out of BLAST Rotterdam in 13th-16th place, continuing their 2026 trend of underperformances. On March 16th, FaZe parted ways with long-time coach Filip "NEO" Kubski, leaving analyst Dominik "GruBy" Swiderski to substitute in Rotterdam while the organization considers a permanent replacement.
Whether the team’s alterations will extend beyond staff changes and into roster moves is uncertain. Statistically, David "frozen" Čerňanský has been FaZe’s most (if not only) consistent player, and he did top the match scoreboard today in their elimination loss to TYLOO. However, the bottom of the board saw a surprise appearance from Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, who posted a 0.78 rating over the three maps.
Contrastingly, IGL Finn "karrigan" Andersen claimed a rare spot next to frozen with a 1.17 rating, followed by often inconsistent AWPer Helvijs "broky" Saukants securing a 1.13. Both players had surprisingly impressive performances on the decider map of Overpass, and while he struggled today against TYLOO, Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski did lead his team in their previous match against Aurora.
The question of who FaZe would cut in the case of a roster change may not have a statistical answer. The most pressing decision FaZe have to make now is who to sign as their new head coach, because if they underperform at DraculaN Season 6, they not make the Cologne Major at all.
