BLAST announce Rivals Fort Worth invites with no NA teams in attendance at $1m LAN

BLAST have unveiled the invites for its upcoming BLAST Rivals Forth Worth event, seeing eight teams claim spots based on the March Valve Regional Standings update with Vitality and FURIA headlining the event as World #1 and World #2 on the VRS.

The next highest ranked team after Vitality and FURIA is World #8 NAVI as MOUZ, PARIVISION, Falcons, Spirit, Aurora, and The MongolZ all declined invites to the event.

With that, a number of lower-ranked team have secured spots in the event as Astralis, G2, FaZe, GamerLegion, and FUT round out the team list. Importantly this means there will be no NA team at the event as BLAST were able to seemingly convince Valve to grant an exception to change the format despite being past the Additional Info deadline for tier-one events.

This change was first brought to wider attention by Graham "messioso" Pitt, with the change denying NRG, MIBR, and an Asian a spot at the $1,000,000 LAN.

BLAST Rivals Forth Worth is set to start on April 27th.
