Liquid knocked out from ESL Pro League S23 by 3DMAX
3DMAX eliminated Liquid from ESL Pro League Season 23 in the decider match of Stage 1.
Liquid were able to battle back from 0-2 in the first stage to qualify for the 2-2 decider, but 3DMAX were too strong for them in the advance-or-go-home match.
Liquid picked Nuke, but it was a performance that they'll want to forget soon. 3DMAX started with a near-perfect CT side, taking an 11-1 lead at halftime to all but put Liquid away. Liquid couldn't wage a comeback in their defensive half, as their map pick was taken away 13-5.
Dust2 was 3DMAX's selection, and they started on the T side this time. The Frenchmen were strong in their attacking half, holding a 9-3 advantage at halftime. Liquid showed a better version of themselves in the second half of D2, tying the game up at 10-10. Their comeback fell short, though, as 3DMAX put them away 13-10 to secure the sweep.
3DMAX's newest member Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier was the best player in the server, dropping 46 frags and a crazy 1.91 rating in the series.
Liquid's final chance to secure a spot at the IEM Cologne Major will come at Gamers Assembly 2026.
