T.c on roster changes: "When NRG came to buy Grim, that obviously changed things"
In an exit interview with HLTV following Passion UA’s elimination from Roman Imperium Cup V, coach Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen spoke about their recent roster changes, saying, "that's pretty much what sparked all of it, I can say, is the interest from NRG in Grim."
Passion UA recently made moves for Argentinian AWPer Santino "try" Rigal and Mongolz’s former star player Azbayar "Senzu" Munkhbold, who will likely be replacing Michael "Grim" Wince. Although it’s not been officially announced, Grim is almost certainly headed to American organization NRG, possibly in place of Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott.
T.c gave some context to Grim’s motivations in accepting NRG’s offer, saying, "he wants to be on an American team so he can be home more. He has family and his girlfriend back on America." T.c continues, "he can be at home more and he can actually practice in NA. Whereas with us, we are in Europe constantly."
With Senzu unable to attend Imperium Cup V due to "personal circumstances," Grim played what will presumably be his last event with Passion UA and long-time teammate Ioannis 'Johnny' "JT" Theodosiou. Grim would finish the event with a 1.01 rating over five maps. Meanwhile Try, who has replaced Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli on the Passion UA roster, finished with a 1.07 rating.
According to T.c, Passion UA’s upcoming schedule is a bit uncertain, as he notes, "Actually, we're not attending that DraculaN. It's just EPL for us. BC Game Masters Championship, we're not a hundred percent sure what's happening after EPL…" In the meantime, Senzu will be acclimating to the new team and improving his English comms: "Once he is spending time on bootcamp and so on, I think it will evolve really exponentially, pretty much exactly what happened with Kvem's English."
