Liquid fall to Spirit in Stage 3 StarLadder Budapest Major opener
Liquid faced Spirit in their first Stage 3 match at the StarLadder Budapest Major. Liquid advanced from the previous stage after starting 0-2 and winning three straight best-of-threes to move onto the final group stage of the Major.
This would be Spirit's first match of the Major, but there were no signs of rust for the Russians. They enjoyed a solid start v. Liquid and didn't look back.
Spirit got off to a hot start v. Liquid, taking an early 4-0 lead. Liquid played the rest of the half evenly, but that meant that Spirit held a solid 8-4 advantage at halftime. Liquid reduced the lead to 8-7, but that was as close as they would get. Spirit retook the momentum, losing only one round the rest of the way to win their first match of the stage 13-8.
Danil "donk" Kryshkovets and Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov led the way for Spirit as the duo went 30-11 and 24-9, respectively, to put Liquid away.
