It's not over yet, M80

s1n laments loss to Imperial: "Not fully heartbroken, but it was our game"

The German has faith that M80 will advance to Stage 3 tomorrow.

M80 had a great chance to advance to Stage 3 of the StarLadder Budapest Major today, but they fumbled the spot to Imperial. Elias "s1n" Stein, the German IGL of M80, spoke to HLTV after the game and shared his thoughts on the narrow loss.

"Not fully heartbroken, but it was our game," s1n told HLTV.

"In the end, they called the B rush, and we were 3 B. We couldn't close it out, so we felt like it was our game, but in the end, we have the L right now."

M80 will have a last chance to make Stage 3 tomorrow, as they play in one of the 2-2 matches.

As of now, NA have zero teams in Stage 3, but M80, Passion UA, and possibly Liquid, will be fighting tomorrow.

Thoughts on losing Mirage

It's our map pick, so we would always look to convert it, but I'm not saying it made us completely out of the realm of this best-of-three. Obviously Mirage we have to look at, and I have to take responsibility for the T side, but it didn't mean we were out of the game after losing our map pick.

M80's map pool

I think our map pool is definitely good. We have maps we love to plan. We haven't tested so much of every map like, we haven't shown so much either. It was kind of good that we played a lot of Mirage in the first stage. Yeah, I'm just happy that we showed some good performances.

Making Stage 3

We had a great tournament so far, so there's no reason to look back at the losses and be like, 'Wow, we played so bad or anything.' I think we just played an amazing tournament so far, maybe today the first misstep, but overall we can just be happy to be in this position. We're gonna close it out tomorrow.
