Breaking: Wildcard unveil JamezIRL as first piece of rebuild

The former Complexity assistant coach has returned to CS2 after a year away from the game.

Wildcard have today unveiled James "JamezIRL" Macaulay as the new head coach set to lead the complete rebuild of their Counter-Strike 2 after pulling the plug on their previous lineup last week. The signing sees JamezIRL return to Counter-Strike 2 after last serving as Complexity's assistant coach from July 2023 to December 2024.

JamezIRL's resume also includes stints with Cloud9, Ghost, and Torqued in CS:GO along with helming Cloud9 and 100 Thieves in VALORANT.

JamezIRL will have a significant task ahead of him as he presumably play a key role in helping to rebuild Wildcard's Counter-Strike 2 division following the collapse of their previous lineup in the months following the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

The signing of the NA coach further reaffirms Wildcard's commitment to the NA scene, with Wildcard's CEO John "Griff" Griffin previously confirming that the team will be staying in the NA region.
