karrigan is looking to add a second Major to his trophy cabinet in Budapest

These four players at StarLadder Budapest also appeared at CS:GO's first Major

These players have been at the top of CS for a dozen years.

The second Major of 2025, StarLadder Budapest, is underway today. There are four players in this Major who also played at CS:GO's first Major tournament, DreamHack Winter 2013.

These players have remained at the top of the game for more than a decade, demonstrating impressive longevity.

Here are the four players who will be competing for the crown in Budapest after playing at DreamHack Winter 2013:

  • Denmark Finn "karrigan" Andersen

  • Dan "apEX" Madesclaire

  • Sweden Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson

  • Denmark Nicolai "device" Reedtz

karrigan, who was on n!faculty, is now the IGL for FaZe, the organization with which he won is one and only Major in 2022. apEX is also taking up the IGL role for his Vitality side, he was on Clan-Mystik for CS:GO's first Major. The Frenchman has won three Majors, one with Envy in 2015 and two with Vitality in 2023 and 2025. His 2023 win came at CS:GO's last Major in Paris.

KRIMZ was on LGB, and is now plying his trade for fnatic, with whom he won back-to-back Majors in 2015 at ESL One Katowice and Cologne. The most successful of the four is device, who played with CPH Wolves in 2013. He is on Astralis now, an org that he's won four Majors with, including three in a row from 2018 to 2019.

apEX and Vitality are one of the favorites to win the Budapest Major after winning the BLAST Austin Major earlier this year. The other three are less likely to find success at this tournament, but have shown the prowess to win in Majors past.
