Nocturnal set to disband following ESL Impact Season 8
The Nocturnal players are set to split up once ESL Impact Season 8 North America concludes this Friday, October 24th, according to Violet "violet" Carfora.
The team kept up with Shimmer and FlyQuest RED all season, until eventually facing them in the past few weeks and losing both matches. These results meant that Nocturnal didn't qualify for the final ESL Impact LAN.
"With us not qualifying for LAN and the death of Impact, the Nocturnal girls and I will all be splitting up and going our separate ways," violet wrote on X.
Nocturnal, however, will play in the final ECL Season 50 Cup, albeit with some different players, according to violet.
This disband will likely be the first of many in the women's scene, as organizations will likely struggle to justify a women's team without ESL Impact. The circuit had been serving as the backbone of women's Counter-Strike ever since ESL created it in 2022.
The current Nocturnal roster will play their final match together this Friday, October 24th against Ghost.
Nocturnal was:
-
Marissa "madss" Dasta -
Riley "lunari" Luna -
Violet "violet" Carfora -
Tori "tori" Gustafson -
Lilith "gadfly" Mize -
William "Rake" Thomas (Coach)
