Retakes and a new way to get Knives debut in October 22nd Counter-Strike 2 Update!

Valve has just dropped a significant update tonight, with changes coming to trade ups and official servers.

Valve has re-added retakes to their official servers, marking the mode’s first appearance in CS2.

Most notably, Covert weapons can now be used in trade-ups for knives/gloves. Five Covert weapons may be used to trade for a knife or gloves.

Here are the most notable changes from the update:

GAMEPLAY

• Adding Retakes as official game mode supporting Defusal Group Alpha and Group Delta maps on official matchmaking servers.
• Fixed Molotov and Smoke interaction logic in cases when multiple smokes are active in the map.

CONTRACTS

Extended functionality of the "Trade Up Contract" to allow exchanging 5 items of Covert quality as follows:

• 5 StatTrak™ Covert items can be exchanged for one StatTrak™ Knife from a collection of one of the items provided
• 5 regular Covert items can be exchanged for one regular Knife item or one regular Gloves item from a collection of one of the items provided
