ESEA Season 55 Elite Cup #2 reaches playoffs

It's coming down to the wire.

After the ESEA Season 55 Elite Cup #2 open qualifier concluded back in November, the main event group stage is now in the books, leaving eight teams left to compete for two ECL spots.

One of the teams to keep an eye on heading into playoffs is MAZRAEA, who finished their group stage run without dropping a map and with a +40 round differential across three maps, soundly defeating Foxtrot and A Great Chaos.

TEAM 33, featuring former Cloud9 and Mythic player Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and Major-winning coach Soham "valens" Chowdhury, are another team to watch out for, after 2-0 victories against both Full House Gaming and NuTorious.

The remaining eight teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket. The top two teams will qualify for ECL Season 51 Cup #3, and the winner of the grand final will take the lion's share of the $2500 prize pool.

Here are the final eight teams competing:

United States LAG
United States antigrind
United States TEAM 33
United States MAZRAEA

United States NuTorious
