Valve remove Transit after developers leave in "n-word" string, crypto ads, and copyright violations

The map was only in the game for two days.

Transit, which was added to CS2 in the October 1st "Community Maps, Charms, and More" update, has been taken out of the game after it was revealed that the n-word is in the map files.

There has been speculation that the map was removed due to copyright issues, as it contained an easter egg referencing the game Stray. There's also a reference to a crypto project called FPI Bank, which boasted of being the only crypto community with this kind of placement in a game.

Shortly after the n-word string was found, one of the map-makers, "Rikuda," admitted to the slur's appearance in the files. He stated that he didn't remember that the string was in the files until it was found and posted on Reddit. He also went on to say that he feels the others involved in the map shouldn't be punished for his mistake and that they were not served a notice from Valve before the map's removal.'

Others have suggested that the removal of Transit may have been related to the cat from Stray appearing on the map as an Easter egg. There are four missing cat posters around the map, which, when interacted with, will spawn a fifth poster. After finding all five posters, the cat from Stray can be seen ziplining in a bucket across the sky.

FPI Bank's "main building", designed to resemble their logo, appears in the background of the map, which could pose an issue for the map as it essentially serves as free advertisement inside Valve's game for the crypto project.

Valve has not commented on the situation and it is unclear whether the map will have a chance at making another appearance in Counter-Strike 2.
