Breaking: Wildcard sign F1KU
Wildcard has acquired Maciej "F1KU" Miklas from OG to replace the departing Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek, who officially joined NRG earlier in the day.
F1KU's arrival had already been reported by the self-proclaimed esports insider Vladislav Gromov last month. F1KU spent little over three years in OG's starting lineup before they benched him in July.
While it's not been officially announced yet, many are expecting Wildcard to reinstate Love "phzy" Smidebrant to the starting roster after recalling him from his loan to 9INE only yesterday. The Swedish organization stated that phzy's recall was not part of their plan, and that they had hoped to continue playing with him.
Wildcard's form have taken a huge hit ever since the organization started making roster changes post-BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. First, Wildcard benched Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and phzy, and replaced them with Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell and Sebastian "fr3nd" Kuśmierz, respectively.
Then, Wildcard took a U-turn in a matter of weeks and brought back stanislaw in Tim "susp" Ångström's place. The results barely improved, though, and Wildcard will most likely miss the StarLadder Budapest Major, according to Finn "Mischief" Farrer's latest predictions.
Given Wildcard's moves since the end of the Austin Major, it's impossible to predict whether this lineup is merely temporary or if they'll be given time to work.
For now, Wildcard are:
-
Josh "JBa" Barutt -
Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz -
Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell -
Sebastian “fr3nd” Kuśmierz -
Maciej "F1KU" Miklas -
Vincent "vinS" Jozefiak (Coach) -
