M80 look to be in fine form

M80 secure biggest VRS bump of any team from BLAST Open London online stage

They look to take the throne as the new "top team" in NA.

M80's impressive lower bracket run in the BLAST Open London online stage awarded them more than just a playoffs spot on LAN. It awarded them the biggest rise in the VRS rankings of all the teams competing.

According to the event page on HLTV, M80 secured the most amount of VRS points and made the biggest jump in the overall global standings of any competing team. M80 earned 72 points from their narrow loss against Vitality and subsequent wins against Virtus.pro, NAVI, and fnatic, with the next highest being FURIA, who earned 53 points. With the trove of points, M80 jumped six spots in the global VRS rankings, up to 29th.

Crucially, the boost also pushes M80 up to 4th in the Americas rankings, which would qualify them directly to Stage Two rather than Stage One of the upcoming Major. That would make M80 the only NA team to qualify directly for Stage Two or further at StarLadder Budapest, as three Brazilian teams currently occupy the top three spots in the Americas rankings: FURIA, paiN, and Legacy.

Earlier last week, EPICLAN and the UK/Ireland Circuit league admin Finn "Mischief" Farrer posted a simulation that said M80 had an 88.71% chance of making the Major, but it feels like that number might be even higher now.
