M80 qualify to BLAST Open London playoffs over fnatic
M80 have locked in their spot in the BLAST Open London 2025 quarterfinals after a convincing 2-0 victory against fnatic this Monday, September 1st. This is the first time M80 have advanced to the playoffs of a big event this year.
M80 picked Ancient against fnatic, and it was looking tough for them until a great flank from Jadan "HexT" Postma won them the round and put a stop to fnatic's four-round streak.
From that moment on, M80 only lost one more round on T-side and finished the good work on CT.
On Train, things were much more scrappy. M80 dominated fnatic in the first half (8-4), and had the chance to close the map in regulation, but their T-side wasn't good enough.
However, M80 were able to walk away with the victory thanks to another solid display on the CT-side, this time in overtime. Mason "Lake" Sanderson was particularly a beast as CT, having averaged a 131.5 ADR.
This victory over fnatic is the cherry on top of a solid campaign so far, as M80 also took down Virtus.pro and NAVI after losing to Vitality in the opening round.
Besides playing in the playoffs of a big event for the first time this year, the BLAST Open London quarterfinals will also be the first time that M80's roster will ever play in an arena.
The BLAST Open London playoffs kick off on Friday, September 5th.
