Virtus.pro bench electroNic after loss to M80
Virtus.pro's elimination from BLAST Open London at the hands of M80 was the final nail in Denis "electroNic" Sharipov's coffin. The organization announced electroNic's benching less than two hours after they lost to M80.
electroNic has been playing for Virtus.pro since 2024, and giving him the captaincy later on has repeatedly led to underwhelming results over the past months. VP gave electroNic one last chance this season and bolstered the squad with former NAVI player and Major winner Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy, but it was all for nothing.
Besides finishing last place in BLAST Open London, Virtus.pro also went out last in FISSURE Playground #1, and had unimpressive results at IEM Cologne, BLAST Bounty Season 2, and the Esports World Cup.
electroNic will sit on Virtus.pro's bench for now, alongside Timur "FL4MUS" Marev and David "n0rb3r7" Danielyan, and VP said it will announce a new fifth soon.
This is what Nikolai Petrossian, Virtus.pro's CEO, had to say about electroNic's benching:
Denis is one of the most experienced and decorated players in the world. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to build a team together that could consistently fight for top positions at the biggest tournaments.
I’d like to thank him for the journey we shared, no matter how difficult it was at times. Big thanks to Denis for his genuine motivation and his readiness to take on the responsibility of being the team’s captain.
