A troubled team up has come to a close

karrigan explains EliGE's departure from FaZe: "Nobody was happy... sometimes players don't mix"

karrigan said EliGE never mixed well with his FaZe teammates.

On August 22nd, FaZe benched American superstar Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski in an allegedly mutual decision while bringing in Polish youngster Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski as his replacement.

Since then, there has been much discussion and churning in the rumor mill regarding EliGE's departure from the starting lineup. However, today we have finally received some insight from FaZe IGL Finn "karrigan" Andersen via a Q&A session during the BLAST Open Fall 2025 Closed Qualifier where the desk asked him about the change.

In the short clip shared below, karrigan told the desk that the team and EliGE had grown unhappy during their time together due to a clash in visions and players not mixing as well as expected. With that, karrigan said it was time for a change while hoping that both parties will come out better from the change.

karrigan's full response reads:

I don't think there's a specific reason, right? In the end it was in some ways mutual, no one was happy and he wasn't happy. What do you do in the end, right? It is for the best of all of us I believe and hopefully EliGE will find a great team. He has showcased how great of an individual player he is but sometimes visions and players don't mix up... and the results were not what as we wanted it.

In the end it is how it is. It's a hard business and I think for the future it's better for all of us and let's get to playing and less talking.

EliGE's replacement, jcobbb, made his debut with FaZe today against ECSTATIC. The team narrowly secured a win over the Danish underdogs while jcobbb himself had a quiet game, ending the series with a 0.81 rating.
