Liquid need to be at their best level to take on the world number one twice.

Liquid draws Vitality again in BLAST Bounty Fall playoffs

Everyone else is scared.

In the course of a week, Liquid will have to face the reigning Major champions and consensus number one team in the world, Vitality, twice.

Earlier this month, Liquid drew Vitality in the first round of Esports World Cup, and at today's BLAST Bounty Fall playoff draft, they drew them again. As the lowest seed heading into the playoff draft, Liquid had to watch the other low seeds pick their opponents, leaving them with whoever remained. Aurora chose The MongolZ, Virtus.pro selected Spirit, and Astralis picked MOUZ, leaving Liquid to face Vitality.

Liquid's newest addition in Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek said the draw was not a big surprise. "No matter what team we played it was going to be a tough game," he said during the selection process. "But I do think it's a really good game for us to see how we are progressing as a team."

"The more chances we get to play against better teams means more material for us to look back at and improve [on]."

Vitality coach Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam refused to declare an easy win for his team though, noting siuhy's past accomplishments in Malta and saying that Liquid "played good" in their win against FURIA.

Liquid's BLAST match against Vitality in the BLAST Bounty Fall quarterfinal is scheduled for Friday, August 15th. Opening matches at EWC begin just days later on Tuesday, August 19th.
