ESL Challenger League S50 NA Cup #1 opening matchups revealed

ESL revealed the opening matchups for ESL Challenger League Season 50 North America Cup #1 yesterday, July 31st.

This tournament will kick off with 16 teams playing in the first round of the upper bracket. The winners will advance to the second round of the upper bracket, where M80, NRG, Getting Info, BOSS, BLUEJAYS, Marsborne, Supernova Comets, and Arrival Seven await.

The losers of that first round, on the other hand, will fall to the lower bracket of ECL S50 NA Cup #1.

This will be the first event of ECL's new format, which was announced at the end of May. The winner of each of the four cups will qualify for the ECL S50 NA finals and battle for a spot in ESL Pro League S23.

Notably, Party Astronauts have remained in the bracket despite disbanding last month. They are expected to forfeit their matches in the Cup, giving away VRS points to Take Flyte and whoever they face in the lower bracket.

This inaugural Cup will be played from August 11th to 31st.
