Wildcard snags PwnAlone as a substitute for BLAST.tv Austin Major
All 32 rosters for the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 have been confirmed, including the ones for all five teams representing North America.
The only team fielding a substitute that was not already previously known to the public is Wildcard, who have 34-year-old NA veteran Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue listed as a sub. PwnAlone played for BOSS and MIGHT in 2024, sticking with the latter for the first couple weeks of 2025 as a stand-in. Previously, he has played on Party Astronauts and the Evil Geniuses White roster, as well as under a trove of various NA banners.
Both NRG and M80 notably do not have an official substitute player listed on the roster, meaning a coach would have to step up in the case of an emergency.
Complexity's most recently announced additions have been confirmed: former Nouns duo Paytyn "junior" Johnson and Eric "adreN" Hoag are listed as substitute and coach, respectively. Fans are likely to see junior pick up the AWP for the Complexity roster, as Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli is expected to miss time due to ongoing visa issues.
Finally, Liquid has the benched Justin "jks" Savage listed as a substitute for the Austin Major.
Outside of NA, a few interesting names appear as substitutes, with the most famous certainly being Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyljev on FaZe, though he will be playing officially in place of Helvijs "broky" Saukants. Long-time Liquid project Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis is listed as a sub for FURIA, but he too will be playing, in place of another former Liquid player in Felipe "skullz" Medeiros. Former Major winner Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy is also listed, as a stand-in for Falcons.
