FalleN wants YEKINDAR to stay in FURIA: "He has tremendous value within the team"

Former Liquid player Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis has left a good first impression on FURIA's captain Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, to the point that FalleN wants the Latvian to stay in FURIA after his stand-in period ends.

For now, YEKINDAR will play for FURIA until the BLAST.tv Austin Major concludes, but FalleN said in his latest vlog that he hopes FURIA can convince YEKINDAR to stay more after practicing together for a couple of weeks.

I was surprised by his ability to help the team talk about the important things that happen during the rounds. He has a big-picture view of what needs to happen each round and is able to play while also helping others at the same time.

He's very dedicated; many times after practice hours, he was still playing or researching something the team needed to improve. That’s really important, it helps raise the team’s work culture. People from the CIS region work really hard. I’m really happy to have more people like that working alongside me.

Another thing I liked is his awareness about his own game. On some maps, he wasn’t happy with his performance, didn’t feel comfortable with his role, or how the bombsite was being defended. That same day, he started conversations, made adjustments, and that kind of behavior is what defines a player and helps them grow.

I was very pleased to have found him. Let’s hope we can give it our all in the next competitions, because he’s someone I’d like to keep on the team longer if the opportunity arises. He plays really well. I hope we can achieve our small goals soon to convince him to stay. He’s a great guy and has tremendous value within the team.

FURIA's first test with YEKINDAR will be the upcoming PGL Astana 2025, which kicks off this Saturday, May 10th. YEKINDAR and the Kazakhstani AWPer Danil "molodoy" Golubenko will make their FURIA debut against The MongolZ.
