Time to start AWPing, buddy

What to expect from Wildcard v. Virtus.pro

Wildcard will have to use two subs for the event.

Wildcard really isn't even supposed to be here. M80 were the ones that had to withdraw from the event as they were sorting through entire roster issues and only recently found their fifth. As for Wildcard, they had roster issues of their own. Originally they were going to use Ian "motm" Hardy, but due to some rules issues he was ineligible, then he was eligible, but Wildcard couldn't use him later on. Now, their brightest prospect Josh "JBa" Barutt is out with food poisoning and missed his flight to China, forcing coach João "horvy" Horvath to fill in. Rough.

Wildcard shuffles the deck

This is probably the worst pun we've used in a while, but the long story short is that Wildcard is going to be a bit unpredictable in this event, considering their roster issues leading up to the journey. Additionally, the team is looking to bounce back off a poor Americas RMR outing and will be looking for international revenge.

  • stanislaw's leadership and experience is critical in this event

  • Two stand-ins will temper expectations

  • Can Sonic and SLIGHT provide enough fragging power?

Virtus.professionals

JAME has all the license in the world to smash a few graphics cards after the Major. That crash against G2 essentially caused the team to fail at the final hurdle and miss out on the Top 8. For Virtus.pro, this match should be incredibly easy and the thing they need to avoid is another Imperial-like upset.

  • JAME is so painstakingly patient in his calling

  • FL1T's strong Major will likely carryover

  • VP's map pool is vastly better than anything Wildcard has

Previous Matchups

Yeah, don't pretend like this section was going to say anything other than "these two sides have never played one another".

Likely Vetoes

VP don't play Nuke, Wildcard seem to play a bit of everything, but this will be the Americans first big international LAN of this magnitude and they'll need to play to their strengths.

  • Wildcard ban Ancient

  • VP ban Nuke

  • Wildcard pick Mirage

  • VP pick Overpass

  • Decider is Anubis
