Tsunami suspends esports operations, releases CS2 roster
Last night NA esports organization Tsunami announced the suspension of esports activities while releasing their Counter-Strike 2 roster into free agency. The decision by the organization to shutter operations comes as its owner Shilen "K1NG" Patel seeks to pivot his creative efforts and the brand into broadcast work, with Tsunami being retooled into a broadcasting agency.
With Tsunami ceasing operations, their lineup are now on the lookout for a new organization shortly after parting ways with Evindar "Drop" Isik and Bobby "stamina" Eitrem earlier this week. However, the now ex-Tsunami roster has already found replacements for the duo, with Take Flyte player Colton "FxRE" Thrasher and former Kooking player Ben "HAMBOOGA" Wetrich making the jump to the team.
This sees the squad restored to full strength ahead of the start of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #3 and ESL Challenger League Season 50 Cup #1 on August 11th. However, ex-Tsunami will likely be unable to utilize their new additions in ECL due to a pre-event roster lock, likely needing to resort to fielding Drop and stamina.
ex-Tsunami are now:
-
Connor "CoolComs" Barnes -
Andrew "CAJUN" Guidroz -
Nikolaos "Pose1doNN" Antoniou -
Colton "FxRE" Thrasher -
Ben "HAMBOOGA" Wetrich
ex-Tsunami's opening match in ECL will see them take on Mythic on August 11th.
