Zomblers disband after multiple players step down

The sudden departure of three players sealed the team's fate.

Last night the Zomblers lineup went their separate ways following the departure of multiple players for various reasons. The dissolution of Zomblers ESEA Advanced Season 54 follows the team's return from Fragadelphia 19 and a patch of decent results from the team after picking up former Vagrants player Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich.

Chief among the reasons for Zomblers' dissolution was the inability of 15-year-old Ukrainian rifler Andrii "Sanzh1k33" Drobotia's inability to play in a majority of events due to being underage. This forced the team to use stand-ins for multiple events, pushing Sanzh1k33 to take a hiatus from competition until he turns sixteen.

Sanzh1k33's departure from the team was then followed by Anthony "ayaneuu" Scheuer announcing that he would also be taking a break from competition, leaving the roster with three remaining players.

Finally, Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich informed his teammates that he had received an offer from another team (now revealed to be MIGHT), leaving the squad with only two players and no path forward to rebuild and retain their Valve Regional Standings (VRS) Points.

With this, the team officially folded last night on good terms as Will "aelor" Africano and Christian "Sathsea" Birkelbach are now set to look for new teams.

Zomblers were:

  • United States Anthony "ayaneuu" Scheuer

  • United States Will "aelor" Africano

  • Andrii "Sanzh1k33" Drobotia

  • United States Christian "Sathsea" Birkelbach

  • United States Sebastian "Seb" Dietrich
