Breaking: BLUEJAYS cut freshie in latest shock roster move

freshie was the final remaining player from the BOSS roster BLUEJAYS signed in February.

In the latest shock move from the German organization, BLUEJAYS have cut Adam "freshie" Paterson from their Counter-Strike 2 roster. The surprise change to the team's ranks sees freshie leave BLUEJAYS after five months on their books, having been the sole remaining player from the BOSS roster BLUEJAYS picked up in February.

BLUEJAYS' decision to cut the Canadian rifler comes despite strong results from the team in recent weeks, with BLUEJAYS notching a top-four finish at Fragadelphia 19 before making the finals at the NA Revival Series #7. While the team fell to M80 in a lopsided series it came after BLUEJAYS secured wins over BOSS and Wildcard while freshie ended the event with a 1.03 rating over six maps.

freshie's removal from the BLUEJAYS roster seemingly caught the player by surprise, with freshie taking to X to state:

This came to me as a big surprise after I thought the team was going so well, I wish them the best of luck and I appreciated my time with this wonderful organization. With that being said if teams want to reach out to me I’m now available.

This is a sentiment freshie echoed to Dust2.us in a comment to the publication, stating that he was given the news by Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore and Tommy "Axed" Ryan very suddenly with freshie claiming the change was made to help Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney who has allegedly been suffering from "bad mental" in the server.

Dust2.us reached out to Cryptic and Axed for comment on the move but did not hear back ahead of publication.

With freshie suddenly out of the roster, BLUEJAYS are now:

  • United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson

  • United States Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore

  • United States Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney

  • Maks "laxiee" Andryei

  • United States Tommy "Axed" Ryan (Coach)

BLUEJAYS will need to lock down a replacement for freshie ahead of the start of the ESL Challenger League Season 50 Cup #1 on August 11th.
