Winning is always fun

CacaNito on Apeks' recent form: "We are having a lot of fun"

It seems to be working so far.

After beating TheMongolz in the group stage at ESL Challenger Atlanta, Apeks reached yet another playoff stage without losing during the group phase, eventually reaching another grand final.

Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore talked with the citizen of North Macedonia, Aleksandar "CacaNito" Kjulukoski, who has been enjoying his time with the Norwegian organization after briefly standing in for ATK during ESL Pro League Season 17. The two talked about the TheMongolz playstyle and Apeks' adjustments, the rumored roster changes, and the North Macedonian scene. Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.

You made it look easy beating TheMongolz. What was your ace in the sleeve to beat them?

We just played like we prepared against every opponent. We know they have a different playstyle, so we had to play more aggressively against them. We focused on counter-playing them, a bit more aggro than usual, that was our preparation.

You have made a lot of progress in the last months, with your finals appearance at Elisa Masters Espoo, now making playoffs at Atlanta. How do you assess your team's progress, do you think you are trending up to tier one or do you have more work to do?

We are progressing well, we had good results in the last tournament and the previous one. We are doing a good job and we are continuing [to do so]. It's the last tournament of the year, we are having a lot of fun and it's working for us, right now.

We saw sense coming in to replace STYKO. What's your assessment of the young Norwegian player? Has he impressed you?

Yes, he is doing well lately. He was not playing these roles before back in the academy team, but he is doing well in his new roles and it's all good for us and we are taking more space than usual.
