BOROS is becoming a highly sought after player in the off-season

Evil Geniuses target Jordanian star among other options

The Seattle-based organization are taking the kitchen sink approach to their rebuild.

According to a collaborative report between HLTV and Guillaume "neL" Rathier of 1pv, Evil Geniuses are aiming to secure the services of Jordanian star, Mohammad "BOROS" Malhas, among other options for their rebuild. The report by HLTV and neL follows neL's own reporting that Evil Geniuses are concurrently looking to secure the services of former G2 player Audric "JACKZ" Jug.

Dust2.us understands that Evil Geniuses are taking a broad approach when evaluating options in the off-season, with a number of different players and compositions being on the table depending on availability.

This approach has some merit as a number of top prospects in the off-season have a number of suitors, with BOROS in particular also reportedly being headhunted by Saudi organization Falcons. The 19-year-old Jordanian is a highly touted prospect following a strong start to 2023 on Monte. At the BLAST.tv Paris Major, BOROS notably posted a 1.15 rating over eight maps in the Legends and Champions stage.

One tidbit that might motivate Evil Geniuses' decision to target BOROS is the fact that he does not count as a European player for obvious reasons. As such, should they elect to keep Ismail "refrezh" Ali and/or Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov, or replace either with another EU player, they could still compete in the NA RMR.

It is understood that Evil Geniuses' shopping list for new talents currently includes:

  • Audric "JACKZ" Jug

  • Mohammad "BOROS" Malhas

With the off-season shuffle picking up, it now seems very likely Evil Geniuses will come into the second half of 2023 with a vastly different roster than the one that failed to gain traction in the first half of the year.
