Akimbo win Clutch or Kick: San Antonio LAN tournament

Akimbo strike gold in their first tournament thanks to some headshotting and such from roca and co.

In their first event since signing their new roster, Akimbo defeated Zomblers in the grand final of Clutch or Kick: San Antonio 3-0, taking home $3,750 for their troubles.

On Overpass, Akimbo rallied from a 3-9 deficit at half-time with nine straight rounds to kick off their T-side, eventually claiming map one 13-10. After that, they stayed in control for both Mirage and Nuke, winning 13-8 and 13-10, respectively.

Akimbo was powered by the three-headed dragon of Ayden "Dante" Laube, Ryan "oreosss" Quach, and Mitch "glorinsz" MacInnis. Each of them notched 54+ kills, a double digits K/D differential, and a player rating of 1.28 or above across the series.

As a tier two ranked event, Akimbo's victory in San Antonio should give them a nice boost in the NA rankings. They'll look to improve further in the second ECL Season 50 NA Cup that begins in September, after getting knocked out of the first cup after a forfeit to LAG and a lower bracket loss to Take Flyte.
