ESL Challenger League S50 Cup 1 Day 4-5 recap: NRG, BLUEJAYS cruise to upper bracket semis

The first cup in ECL Season 50 is getting down to crunch time, with the upper bracket semifinal matches set as well as the lower bracket round 4 matchups.

The upper bracket has gone as expected, with most of the top teams advancing with little issue. Getting Info's loss in the second round did throw a spanner in the works, as InControl took advantage of the opportunity and now find themselves in an upper-bracket semifinal showdown with M80.

In the previous round of matchups, the marquee match was BLUEJAYS v. BOSS. The game featured two players who previously donned the BLUEJAYS colors, Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman and Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan.

BLUEJAYS 2-0 BOSS

This may have been the most interesting matchup of the round on paper, but no one told BLUEJAYS that. The aforementioned side picked Dust2 to begin the series, and immediately took the advantage, taking an 8-4 lead into halftime. The second half was even more commanding, as BLUEJAYS gave up just one round, winning the first map 13-5.

BOSS tried to rebound on Ancient, but BLUEJAYS had other ideas. BLUEJAYS dominated in the first half, holding a 10-2 at the beginning of the second period. BOSS did what they could, but fell once again by a score of 13-5.
