Complexity to replace NAVI at BLAST Spring Finals in DC
BLAST has officially announced that Ukrainian side Natus Vincere will no longer be attending the BLAST Premier Spring Final in Washington D.C. as they stated that the CIS squad is unable to compete. Replacing NAVI are the hometown heroes of Complexity, who NAVI bested at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups to earn their spot in D.C. in the first place.
Complexity's presence at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals will be a boon for both them and fans alike, seeing as the North American event was slated to not feature a single North American team, following the failures of Complexity, Liquid, and Evil Geniuses at the Spring Groups, and the triumphant run of Imperial at the BLAST Premier Americas Spring Showdown. Of the North American squads missing out on qualification, Complexity was by far the closest, narrowly falling to NAVI in a qualification match at the Spring Groups. With NAVI now unable to attend, BLAST has opted to select the runner-ups of Complexity to fill the void as per point 7 of their rulebook.
Complexity will be very pleased with an additional opportunity to compete, especially considering the squad's lackluster results in recent showings. A group-stage exit from ESL Challenger Melbourne, an event where the team was initially thought to be in the running for the title, was immediately followed up with an early elimination from the BLAST.tv Paris Major Challengers Stage. After notching a BO1 win over eventual finalists GamerLegion, Complexity crumbled versus G2, paiN, and Liquid to depart from the Challengers Stage with a 1-3 record.
The team list for the BLAST Premier Spring Finals is:
Complexity are slated to begin their run in Washington D.C. in two weeks' time, with the Spring Finals scheduled to begin on June 7th, running until June 11th.
