Liquid goes back-to-back in Dust2's October rankings

Liquid’s recent success has them comfortably sitting atop the mountain.

September was full of competition for North American teams, with teams hoping to find form ahead of the NA RMRs coming up.

To provide a transparent summary of the ranking process, here is a breakdown of the Dust2 Ranking process:

Our team rankings are chosen based on a series of measurements where each team is allocated points dependent on where they rank compared to their peers. This point-based system puts all domestic and international results, HLTV ranking, the tier of play, and coaches polling into consideration. While we include the HLTV rankings to some degree, there is more weight that is given to the select number of coaches within the scene that are ranking the teams due to their accurate ability in judging play outside of the regional matches.

#1 United States Liquid (EliGE, NAF, oSee, nitr0, YEKINDAR) (-)

Liquid made their sole appearance in September inside ESL Pro League where they are currently still participating in as one of the two finalists ready to compete later today. Wins over potential major opposition in Movistar Riders, Evil Geniuses, Cloud9, Fnatic, and MOUZ in pursuit of the final’s appearance should instill plenty of confidence in the lineup ahead of the RMR.

#2 Brazil FURIA (arT, yuurih, KSCERATO, saffee, drop) (-)

FURIA stumbled in the end of a strong initial showing at EPL, falling to Outsiders in a BO3 to be eliminated. Although this was their only showing of the month, there were plenty of positives around their wins against Eternal Fire, Movistar, EG, and finalists Liquid.

#3 United States Complexity (JT, floppy, FaNg, Grim, hallzerk) (+1)
Complexity stole the hearts of many fans at EPL with wins over Astralis, HEET, and ENCE. Although they failed to make it deep into the EPL playoffs, they showed a lot of growth at perhaps the best time with the RMR coming up.

#4 Brazil 00 Nation (coldzera, TACO, latto, dumau, try) (-)

00 Nation did not see a single official last month as they prepare for the Major. With healthy mix of veteran experience and youthful skill on the team makes them a healthy second option for the throne in Brazil.

#6 Brazil Imperial (FalleN, fnx, fer, boltz, VINI) (-1)

Imperial’s sole appearance on the month was at ESL Challenger Melbourne, where they found success throughout most of the event until the Grand Final, where they dropped the BO3 to a new-look domestic rival in paiN. MIssing the event was unfortunate for Imperial, but they can right their wrongs at the RMR.

paiN’s sole appearance on the month was a successful one, as the Brazialn’s snagged a LAN win over their domestic rivals in Imperial, ending the event with a BO3 win. After getting one up on their big brother, paiN will be tested to replicate that success in the RMR against top competition.

#8 Brazil MIBR (exit, tuurtle, JOTA, brnz4n, HEN1) (-)

MIBR had a busy month, participating in three different events on the month. They earned first at CCT Central Europe Series, but failed to replicate their winning ways at EPL. In ECL, they ran wild, going 7/7 on series. If they perform at this level at the RMR, MIBR could

oNe had an incredibly dominant month against lower domestic competition, ending the month with a stunning 42-9 map record over the likes of EG Black, EG White, and ATK. They managed this success against lower competition, but if they can replicate it against the top teams then we might be seeing them go deep into the RMR.

With multiple talents in their lineup with high hopes from fans, time will tell if they can meet those expectations.
