oNe and Los Grandes create new $24.8M organization

The legendary Counter-Strike tag has been bought by the second largest Brazilian organization.

oNe, a historic name in Counter-Strike history, has been sold to Los Grandes. The deal was first reported by Dust2 Brasil, in which was revealed that the organizations will join their rosters, as well as their main staff, but both will maintain their respective infrastructure. For now, the name of the new organization will be Los + oNe.

The merger will see Los + oNe having two CS:GO rosters but unlike Evil Geniuses or Davenport, who also have more than one squad, the Brazilians will have one team competing in South America and the other in North America. Also, according to a report by Forbes Brasil, the two combined organizations now have a market value of $25 Million or R$134 Million.

Despite the organizations not fully joining forces in a short term, the oNe roster that qualified for the IEM Road to Rio Americas RMR will play under the new name and a new banner that joins both orgs' former logos.

In a joint statement sent to Dust2 Brasil, the organizations stated the following;

With the acquisition, in addition to the union of their line-ups, we will integrate our structures, starting to operate together, with the objective of growing internationally.

The command will be jointly commanded by El Gato, CEO of Los Grandes, Rodrigo Terron, partner and advisor of Los Grandes, and Alexandre "kakavel" Peres, CEO of team oNe. The following statement has been translated from the original Portuguese to English. kakavel remarked on the merger;

I am proud to announce that from this moment on, Team oNe is Los Grandes and Los Grandes is Team oNe. This merger comes at a very important moment in the world esports scene, with it we will be able to be where we always fight, we will stand out as one of the biggest esports teams in the world. Combining everything that Team oNe has conquered in its history and all its sports know-how with the size of the supporters of Onda Laranja, and its commercial and media potential, very soon we will become this great world power. We are very excited about this new step and we will reap many fruits together.

Terron also stated;

With this merger, we want to be among the elite of the main e-sports modalities in the world and bring many relevant titles to Brazil. And for that, we believe that, by bringing together an organization with a lot of experience in the competitive, relevant titles and a consolidated international operation , like Team oNe, to the universe of Los Grandes, which has grown very fast and is seeking to become professional within esports, standing out for its agility in decision-making, great brands supporting it, and especially for the gigantic community of fans, we are able to become a world reference in 2 or 3 years.
