FiReLEAGUE replaces NA qualifier winners with CIS team in bewildering decision

After oNe opted to prioritize ESL Challenger Rotterdam, they have been replaced by a Russian team for some reason.

In an announcement today, FiReSPORTS have revealed that after oNe elected to play in ESL Challenger Rotterdam, due to date clashes with the FiReLEAGUE Global Finals in Barcelona, they would invite Spirit from the CIS region as the replacement. This is a peculiar replacement as many believed Nouns would be the one to replace oNe after they finished as runners-up in the qualifier.

The announcement did not reveal any indication as to why Spirit was chosen ahead of any other NA team that elected to play in the qualifier for the event and Dust2.us has not yet received a response from the organizers at the time of the publication.

Nouns members have already decried the decision on twitter, with Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk sarcastically remarking "Let’s host a NA qualifier but just because the team that wins it doesn’t go let’s just invite a team not in NA."

Additionally, head coach Corey "SEMPHIS" Friesen simply asked "mind telling us how the 2nd place team in the qualifier for an NA BASED event was given to a CIS team? What was the logic here if any at all?"

The event is scheduled to take place from October 13th to 16th with the majority of teams in attendance from either Brazil or Argentina. The two exceptions are MASONIC, winners of the European qualifier, and now Spirit.
