FLUFFY AIMERS top launders LAN to claim $6,000 CAD

A mixteam built around the FLUFFY AIMERS core won launders LAN this weekend, taking home $6,000 CAD and winning the organization its third LAN event. The event, hosted by Rivalry Canada and Mohan "launders" Govindasamy, took place at The Warehouse in Toronto, Canada over the weekend, with a full house of 32 teams attending one of Canada's largest LAN events in recent history.

With 32 teams in attendance, a number of top Advanced and ESL Challenger League players and teams were in attendance, with Jonathan "djay" Dallal, Jonathan "Jonji" Carey, Khizar "Momo" Rehman, and McKinley "Cyrix" Hollison being just some of the names that made it out to Toronto.

While the event was exciting throughout, the level of competition really picked up in the quarterfinals, with the top teams in attendance filling locking sabers. For their part, FLUFFY AIMERS had smooth sailing up until the finals, claiming 2-0 wins over dot Stats and Mitch "gloRinsz" MacInnis' Will to Win. FLUFFY AIMER's eventual opponents in the finals, For Fun, had a more difficult route, needing to best Strife 2-1 before winning another close series over Jonji's Walmart Door Greeters.

In the finals Momo's For Fun started the series off with an overtime 19-17 victory on their map pick of Nuke before FLUFFY AIMERS answered back with a more on-sided 13-8 win on Mirage. With the series tied up, another overtime was ultimately in the cards, as FLUFFY AIMERS dropped a 12-6 lead on Anubis. However, they would ultimately be the team to come out on top after rallying in overtime to take the map 16-14.

At the event, Mason "Lake" Sanderson put up the strongest individual performance with a 1.26 rating, while Tianyi "Fr3nk1e" He was FLUFFY AIMER's MVP with a 1.19 rating over five maps.

3rd/4th - Will to Win - (gloRinsz, djay, ekim, scar, krZ) - $500 CAD
3rd/4th - Walmart Door Greeters - (Jonji, Uber, Inseaniac, calamity, JvXt) - $500 CAD
