Liminha: Brazil's biggest CS:GO fan turned streamer

Dust2.us got to chat with Liminha about his amazing journey from average fan to Brazilian CS:GO's golden boy and what it was like meeting his idol for the first time.

Dust2.us had the chance to sit down with popular Brazilian streamer Liminha at the ongoing Americas RMR. In this interview, Liminha talks about his rise to popularity, having FalleN as an idol, and his thoughts on who will be reaching the Major.

Let's just start at the beginning, what made you a Brazilian CS:GO fan?

The passion, the work that the people in the past did for a country that did not have the class the Europeans and Americans have. Like FalleN, he was my first idol, the first guy in Esports in general. I saw FalleN winning the two Majors, and what he did for the Brazilian community, you know like we don't have Faceit in Brazil and he created Gamers Club, for Brazilian pugs. He started an academy, Gamers Academy, to teach people, for Brazilians, not just for him. He could do this just for him, but no he's a guy who needs to do it for the community. That's why I love Brazilian CS, and Gaules helped me, and I'm here because of Gaules.

Obviously, you were at the last Major, where we saw FURIA make it to the legends stage. How was your experience of the Major?

Oh I loved the Major, like when we were planning the travel we didn't know that FURIA was gonna be there. When FURIA won against Entropiq it was fantastic, like, we're gonna watch FURIA on stage, the first Brazilian team on the legends stage since FalleN. So that was amazing, the experience and it was my first Major, so I was so happy, and I'm happy now.

You talk about FalleN being your idol, how is it to see him and all those old players come back as Imperial?

This is the first time that I met FalleN in real life, like in person, and I didn't know how to react. I met FalleN, then I stopped and talked with him. Then later, I went to the bathroom and I was like "What is happening, I'm talking to FalleN". It was so fantastic, unreal.

You're like a Brazilian influencer now right, how did you get to that stage?

I started with fancams during the pandemic. I never thought that I could get money and go to Europe, that was just impossible to me. When the fancams started, it was an opportunity to be with the crowd, not in real life but online. Then Gaules saw me on the fancam, and I was there from 7 AM to 10 PM on the fancams. This was because I stopped studying when the universities were adapting to being online, so there was not much to do. I started in the fancams, and Gaules saw, and people embraced me, and then I started to livestream, and people, I don't know why, but they liked me. Now I do this today, and people help me a lot. That guy, bt0, helped me a lot, and in the beginning Gaules, and now Gaules invited me to participate in the events and broadcasting with him, and now he gave me the opportunity to go to the Major and now be here with the RMR. Its just amazing, that's my story.

So we know about your past, but what's your future? What is your goal, what do you want to achieve?

I want to live this, I don't know how many years, but I want to live Counter-Strike. Now today, I am living Counter-Strike. I wake up and go to the broadcast, go to watch CS:GO games, now I'm here 24 hours for CS, and that's my goal for the next year, to live like this. And then, I don't know, maybe continue to do this.

Well, who are the six teams from this that are going to make the Major?

Six Brazilian teams.

Yeah, which teams?

I don't know, but they need to be Brazilians. No EG, no Bad News Bears, no Party Astronauts.

It's been amazing talking to you, do you have anything you want to say to all the fans out there who have helped you get to where you are?

Just thank you to all the people, I had American fans too in the fancams, and I talked to a lot of them. They helped me and support me, so I just need to thank all these people.Thank you CS:GO community.
