Welcome the new website, Inferno.blog!

Dust2.us rebrands to Inferno.blog

Given the current state of North American CS:GO, we feel that this change in branding better aligns with the dumpster fire that currently exists within our region.

Dust2 is a storied, incredible map that fills the halls of CS:GO history with memorable plays and magnificent matches. However, change is inevitable, and it is time for Dust2.us to reflect that.

Among growing calls from fans of the game to remove Dust2 from the current map pool, we strongly believe this is the correct direction for the future of this website. Let's face it. It's a dull, played-out map with few strategies and a lack of ingenuity on the professional level. It's high time for the CS community at large to move past this map and go into a brighter future. Thus, your favorite website for North American Counter-Strike news will have a new face and a new name.

The decision to change from Dust2.us was not an easy one to make. However, as difficult as it was, it was even more difficult to choose a suitable replacement. We here intensely believe that any new name must reflect our roots in North American CS:GO while also looking ahead to the future. Through much discussion, we settled on a classy name that we think will represent the website much better going forward.

Welcome to Inferno.blog

Inferno, in contrast to Dust2, routinely has new innovations. New strategies and metas are being developed all the time. Inferno is constantly changing and reinventing itself, a quality we hope to bring to the new Inferno.blog. In addition, Inferno is near and dear to the hearts of North American Counter-Strike fans, bringing back memories of Cloud9's victory at the Boston 2018 Major. With that, we hope to bridge the gap with our dear NA CS fanbase.

Plus, as you may have noticed, we are also removing the US from our name and top-level domain. This is due to many factors, not the least of which having to due with "North American" tournaments filled with and won by South American teams. We feel it would be dishonest to continue flying Old Glory when the best teams in the tournaments we cover do not.

Finally, with all that being said. We thank you for being avid readers of Dust2.us and hope you will continue on to be voracious readers of Inferno.blog as well. Have a great day, go support some NA teams, and most importantly, happy April Fools! If you read this far, make sure to retweet the article to see if your friends fall for this as well.
