FACEIT issues bans to 12,478 smurf accounts

20 million ELO has been restored to 544,098 players.

FACEIT has announced that it has banned more than 12,000 accounts for smurfing and multi-account abuse.

FACEIT has introduced new methods to combat smurfs and account sharing, saying that its new detection methods will now run automatically.

The ban list can be found here and will be updated in batches in the coming days. ELO will be restored to affected players' accounts in the next 24-48 hours, according to FACEIT.

FACEIT Season 9 will begin on August 5th, and any ELO restored will count towards the start of the new season.
