MERC release roster and exit CS2

After six months, MERC have pulled the plug on their whole esports division.

NA esports organization MERC have announced their departure from Counter-Strike 2 after hosting an ESEA Advanced squad since December 2025. MERC entered the scene with the signing of the former Vireo.pro squad featuring the likes of Andrew "celery" Pylko and Stella "Galy" Castro.

Like most NA teams MERC have kept busy competing in ESEA Advanced, CROSSFIRE while also attending FRAG York back in March. Unfortunately notable results eluded the team while they also missed out on ESEA Advanced Season 56 and Season 57 playoffs after fairly poor regular seasons despite a number of roster changes.

Regarding their decision to leave the game, MERC said in a statement that the decision came as part of a larger strategic shift to move away from esports as a whole. It appears the organization is shifting focus to trading card games and streamers.

MERC were:

  • United States Andrew "celery" Pylko

  • United States "vow"

  • United States Charles "ChwE" Whitehead

  • United States Aaron "aaronsfury" Baldwin
