FaZe push past Sharks to make final day of Stake Ranked Episode 2
FaZe have advanced out of day three of Stake Ranked Episode 2 with a 2-0 win over Sharks, securing a second win in the lower bracket while also advancing to the final day of the Barcelona LAN. The win over Sharks was a confident 2-0 for FaZe, with Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski having a great series as he played a starring role in the win.
FaZe got off to a dominant start on their opponent's map pick of Ancient, with the European side notching a 3-0 lead on their CT-side before taking the half 9-3 with relatively little trouble. After switching sides, Sharks were impressively able to tie things up by winning six of the first seven rounds of the half, however they were unable to keep this momentum up, setting the stage for FaZe to win three in a row and take Ancient 13-9.
Moving onto Mirage, FaZe won the pistol round on their T-side but were unable to convert the following round, allowing Sharks to climb up to a 3-1 scoreline before FaZe answered back with two rounds of their own. This pattern continued throughout the first half, with FaZe having slightly more success, allowing them to win their T-side 7-5.
Heading into their CT-side, FaZe won their third pistol round of the series and the following two rounds, securing double digits first before Sharks claimed the next three to close the gap down to two rounds. Unfortunately for Sharks, they quickly ran out of runway against a leading performance from jcobbb, with the Pole powering FaZe to a 13-10 win on the map and closing out the series 2-0.
