FaZe survive slugfest with 9z
After two maps of double overtime and a series decider on Ancient, FaZe have prevailed in their first lower bracket match of Stake Ranked Episode 2.
Mirage was kept close partly by 9z's Luciano "luchov" Herrera, whom FaZe surrendered 28 frags to. While FaZe were able to build a 9-5 lead in regulation, the match ended up seeing two sets of overtime, the second of which FaZe dominated.
They again took a lead on Overpass, going up 9-4 before 9z went on a seven-round defensive streak. Despite IGL Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken leading the lobby with 31 kills, FaZe were ultimately unable to stop the duo of luchov and Franco "dgt" Garcia.
To this point in the series, Helvijs "broky" Saukants had amassed 32 AWP kills for the FaZe side. On Ancient, the Latvian added another 15 to that tally, as FaZe successfully quelled luchov and dgt to secure a win without the need for overtime.
