FaZe fall 1-2 to magic at Stake Ranked Episode 2
Following their solid 2-0 victory yesterday over Alliance, FaZe lost 1-2 today against the rising CIS squad magic. After a nearly flawless Mirage, the next two maps were more competitive affairs. FaZe came close, but were unable to grasp the win on either.
The series began on magic's pick of Mirage. After winning the pistol, FaZe took off and never looked back as they got a flawless 12-0 CT-side. magic got four rounds back, but FaZe stole their pick 13-4. On the CT-side, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken was untouchable as he went 22-3 with a 3.40 rating.
The second map was FaZe's pick of Dust2, and magic put up a much stronger fight. After FaZe won the pistol, magic took control of the first half and got a 9-3 lead. FaZe then won their CT-side and started mounting a comeback. They won eight rounds in a row to put magic down 9-11, but a 1v3 clutch from Nikita "tenzy" Kochenyuk got magic back in. magic took the map 13-11, forcing a decider.
Map three was Overpass, and FaZe started with their fourth pistol win. After a lot of back and forth, the teams were tied 6-6 going into the second half. magic won the pistol and took control of the half after some traded rounds. magic eventually closed the map 13-10, winning the series, despite David "frozen" Čerňanský's best efforts.
