molodoy and FURIA arrive in Astana to swarms of fans

FURIA recently arrived in AWPer Danil "molodoy" Golubenko's home country of Kazakhstan for the upcoming PGL Astana tournament. As one of four Kazakhstani participants in the event alongside PARIVISION's coach Dastan "dastan" Aqbaev, magic's AWPer Abdurahim "mo0N" İsa, and Fisher College's stand-in Sanjar "neaLaN" Ishakov, the team received a warm welcome at the airport.

FURIA posted videos on social media of the team's arrival, and massive crowds of fans can be seen eagerly awaiting the team. Before they even went outside, fans with flags and cameras surrounded the players to show their excitement. Even after the event shuttle arrived, molodoy took time to take pictures with many fans as one of the nation's representatives in the tournament.

In addition to being the capital of his home country, Astana is also the location of the first tournament molodoy ever played with FURIA. Almost exactly a year ago, molodoy and FURIA got top four at PGL Astana 2025. It was the organization's first top-four finish in over half a year and introduced the world to the up-and-coming sniper.

With captain Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's retirement looming over the team and IEM Rio already behind them, this event serves as another opportunity to be crowd favorites and potentially go further than they did last year.

FURIA's first match of the event will be on May 9th at 10:00AM against Monte.
