Media: Five-time Worlds champions T1 weigh entering Counter-Strike
T1 are considering entering Counter-Strike in an effort to increase the org’s global reach and reach a $1 billion corporate valuation.
In the server, T1 have come up short at the Esports World Cup 2025, finishing 12th-13th. In order to better their finish in coming years, T1 are aiming to compete in more titles, including a confirmed return to Fortnite at EWC 2026.
T1 COO Josh Woongki Ahn said that participating in EWC’s Partner Program, the Esports Foundation, has "helped us expand our portfolio of titles beyond League of Legends" which makes the team more attractive to new sponsors and investors.
Woongki Ahn continued, "EF's support has become the solid anchor that has allowed us to consider new game titles such as Counter-Strike and Dota." T1 previously fielded a team in the Valve MOBA from 2019 to 2022, but is yet to compete in CS.
T1 turned a profit in 2025 for the first time since 2019, thanks to record-breaking sales of digital in-game products, increased sponsorships, and merchandise sales.
An expansion into CS would expose the South Korean org to a new demographic of fans and open another revenue stream in the form of sticker money from potential Major qualification.
As of now, T1 haven’t announced formal plans to enter CS2.
