Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Quarterfinal #1: Zomblers reverse sweep FarmVille, move to semifinals
FarmVille v. Zomblers was the first match of the playoffs in Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7. FarmVille came into the matchup with a 3-1 record in the group stage, while Zomblers snuck into the playoffs with a 3-2 mark.
FarmVille began the match with a commanding first map win, but couldn't close in the second and fell in the third map.
Zomblers 2-1 FarmVille
Zomblers' pick was Ancient, but it was FarmVille who immediately seized control on the CT side. After winning the first three rounds and conceding just one, FarmVille won another five in a row to help themselves to an 8-1 lead. Zomblers clawed the score back to 8-4, but they couldn't keep that form in the second half. FarmVille lost just one round in the second half to steal Zomblers' map 13-5.
FarmVille would have been on a high after winning on their opponents' pick. Zomblers fell behind 3-1, but were able to find more answers in this game, as they answered back to hold a 7-5 lead at the half. FarmVille quickly jumped out to a 10-8 lead, but Zomblers closed strong to win 13-10 and force a third map.
FarmVille will rue their inability to win the second map, as Zomblers started hot in the third and decisive map of Overpass. They began with a seven-round streak, which was interrupted by a three-round burst from FarmVille, before Zomblers won the final two rounds of the half to take a 9-3 edge at the interval. FarmVille couldn't get much going in the second half, winning only two rounds and being eliminated at the hands of Zomblers, 13-5.
Connor "CoolComs" Barnes was the leading man for Zomblers. The British player dropped 48 frags in the series with an impressive 1.25 rating.
