Jonji and Fruitcupx headline new orgless Festina Lente team

A new orgless team named Festina Lente (Latin for make haste slowly) has been formed today headlined by Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman coming shortly after Jonji announced his return to competition. Alongside the experienced duo, the roster is rounded out by Max "Maxuel" Barutt, Justin "FRIZZY" Gillis, and John "gamble" Thompson.

Festina Lente will be Jonji's first team in over a year, after Jonji took an extended break from competition after leaving MIGHT in December 2024. As for Fruitcupx, this new lineup sees him immediately get back on the horse after being cut from SportsBetExpert and spending the last few weeks pugging with the insane players mixteam before Adam "freshie" Paterson and Bogdan "ogwizard" Savula jumped to Marsborne last night.

Of the three youngsters on the Festina Lente roster, Maxuel is probably the most well-known to NA fans simply for being Joshua "JBa" Barutt's younger brother while also being active in ESEA Advanced with teams like Full House and Plasma.

FRIZZY, meanwhile, has been mixing it up at the ESL Challenger League for a few years, most recently playing for Arrival Seven in Season 50 while also being known for outing with Chicken Coop, Wanted Goons, and Fisher College.

Finally, gamble is a bit of a wildcard (no pun intended) as he only boasts three maps on HLTV while being another familiar face in ESEA Advanced after spending 2025 with Full House

Jonji shared on X that the team have a spot in the upcoming NSTLGA League while they are also likely to try and find other open events as they join the mass of teams fighting or a spot on the VRS.
