HAMBOOGA announces retirement as CoolComs weighs future with Zomblers
On April 10th, Ben "HAMBOOGA" Wetrich announced his decision to retire from competitive Counter-Strike 2 and step down from Zomblers. At the same time, Connor "CoolComs" Barnes also announced that he is weighing his options and is considering exiting Zomblers amidst a busy personal schedule. The two announcements see Zomblers put back into rebuild mode two weeks after returning to full strength with the additions of HAMBOOGA and Colton "FxRE" Thrasher on March 27th.
HAMBOOGA told Dust2.us that he made the decision to step away from competitive CS2 due to decreasing interest in the game, saying he hasn't been enjoying his time with the game for a number of months.
As for CoolComs, he told Dust2.us that he is looking for a new team due to diverging goals with his teammates, with the core wanting to practice more, a commitment CoolComs cannot meet due to a busy personal life with a child at home and house renovations on the to-do list.
The duo will stick with Zomblers for their immediate commitments, including in the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #7, with the team looking for a replacement for HAMBOOGA and possibly CoolComs in the immediate future.
For the moment, this leaves Zomblers with:
-
Connor "CoolComs" Barnes -
Andrew "CAJUN" Guidroz -
Nikolaos "Pose1doNN" Antoniou -
Colton "FxRE" Thrasher
Zomblers will face InControl tonight at 08:00PM in the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #7 for a spot in playoffs.
