chop announces retirement

This morning Connor "chop" Sullivan announced his retirement from professional Counter-Strike 2, exiting the game eight years in the NA scene. chop's retirement follows his benching on Marsborne alongside the majority his teammates following the organization's decision to pivot to a new lineup after falling short of in their goal of qualifying to the IEM Cologne 2026 Major.

On X, chop explained that he made the decision to retire due to life "slowly pulling [him] away from the game" and that it was time to move on.

During his playing career, chop found himself on many notable NA squads throughout CS:GO and the early years of CS2, with notable outings in the former title including his time with RBG with NA mainstays like Colby "Walco" Walsh and Jadan "HexT" Postma, a tumultuous period as Evil Geniuses' ill-fated Black roster, and a year with Ben "ben1337" Smith's Party Astronauts.

While chop's time in CS:GO had a number of notable successes, he arguably had his most sustained period of success in CS2 with his final team Marsborne. After joining their debut lineup in January 2025 the team grew into a serious contender in North America, regularly competing for titles while sitting in the upper echelon of the Americas VRS.

Unfortunately for chop, while Marsborne came within striking distance of multiple trophies, victory on LAN always seemed to elude the team and with it being chop's final team means he ends his career without any LAN silverware to his name.
