Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Day 12 recap: Akimbo secure playoffs, team mouse survive
The regular season is getting down to the nitty gritty in the seventh edition of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series, with nearly all playoff teams accounted for.
Akimbo qualified for the playoffs thanks to a solid 2-0 victory over Chicanery, while team mouse eliminated LAG 2-1 in a match from the 1-2 pool. InControl stayed alive via a forfeit win v. 900FPSvsECO.

Chicanery
Akimbo got off to a blazing start v. Chicanery on their pick of Overpass, as the former sprinted out to a 9-1 lead, which they would turn into a 10-2 halftime advantage. Chicanery claimed the pistol round in the second half, but they would find no more joy, as they dropped their map pick 13-3.
Ancient was Akimbo’s pick, and it was a much more tightly-contested affair in the second map. Both teams traded rounds in bursts, with Chicanery coming out better thanks to a four-round streak at the end of the half, where they led 7-5. Chicanery extended their lead to 9-5 and were primed to close out the map, but Akimbo stormed back with six in a row to put the Americans on the ropes. Chicanerycouldn’t recover and fell just short, losing 13-11 on Ancient.
Bryan “Marco” Valles Valenzuela was the standout man for Akimbo, as he dropped 39 frags and a ludicrous 1.80 rating in the sweep.

team mouse 2-1 LAG
team mouse v. LAG began on the latter’s pick of Inferno. LAG showed why this was their choice, as the blitz team mouse in the first half on their way to a 9-3 lead at halftime. They looked good for the map, taking an early 12-4 edge in the second half, but team mouse came back with eight rounds in a row to force overtime. Two overtime periods were needed, and it was team mouse who stole the map from the clutches of LAG to take a 1-0 series lead.
Mirage was team mouse’s selection, but it was LAG who started strongly again. They didn’t do quite as well as the first time around, taking an 8-4 lead into the half. LAG wouldn’t fumble this time around, as they only surrendered one round and took team mouse’s map pick 13-5.
The decider was Ancient, and team mouse put up their best first half performance in the series when they needed it. Both sides were deadlocked at the interval, but it was team mouse who benefitted the most from a quicker start in the third map. LAG couldn’t find momentum in the second half, only winning three rounds to lose the map 13-9 and the series 2-1.
For LAG, Kamron “kamron” Manii was on fire, posting an astronomical 70 frags, but it wasn’t enough. The trio of Benjamin “Panic” Keeping, Dylan “DYLAN” Frivalt, and Connor “Jolts” Hainesled led the way for team mouse as they ground out the 2-1 victory.
