Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series 7 Day 6 recap: Akimbo and insane players climb up to 2-0 records

The Mongolian-majority squad are having a great event thus far.

Round two of the Dust2.us Eagle Masters Series #7 came to a close last night with two games being played in both the 1-0 and 0-1 groups. In the 1-0 matches, Akimbo and insane players secured secured wins to advance to 2-0 records while LAG and BOSS recovered from round one upsets to improve to 1-1 records.

United States LAG 2-0 Clockwork United States

Last night started with LAG securing a quick and easy 2-0 win over Clockwork to improve to a 1-1 record in the Swiss Stage. The series started off with LAG winning their Ancient T-side 10-2 before quickly wrapping up the map 13-7.

Moving onto Overpass, LAG narrowly won their CT-side 7-5 despite starting the half off 6-2. Moving into the second half, Clockwork won their CT-side pistol and the following round to tie the map up 7-7 before LAG took control of proceedings to take the map 13-9.

United States BOSS 2-0 mouse United States

The second game of the night was another quick 2-0 series, with BOSS making quick work of mouse on Mirage and Inferno. Mirage kicked off with an even 6-6 opening half before BOSS launched into a perfect T-side to win the map 13-6.

From there, Inferno was another dominant showing from BOSS despite despite an early lead from mouse. After mouse started their CT-side up 3-1 BOSS would take control of the half to take it 8-4 before dominating on their CT-side to win the map 13-5.

United States FarmVille 1-2 Akimbo

The first 1-0 match of the day was a closely contested series between FarmVille and the new Akimbo squad, with the series starting off with Dust2 going to overtime after two 6-6 halves. In overtime, FarmVille were able to break this deadlock by winning two rounds in both halves to take the map 16-13.

After a close opening map, Inferno ended up being a quick and dirty blowout for Akimbo, as 18 kills from Maks "laxiee" Andryei powered a 10-2 CT-side before Akimbo won the map outright 13-2.

Moving into Ancient, FarmVille starting their T-side up 5-3 while Akimbo would close out the half with four rounds in a row to secure a 7-5 lead heading onto their own T-side. This second half of Ancient was hotly contested with neither side having a significant advantage until the end of the map where an 11-11 stalemate was broken by two rounds from Akimbo to take the map 13-11.

United States insane players 2-0 Chicanery United States

The final match of the night was a true blowout in any sense of the word as insane players claimed a 2-0 win over Chicanery while only dropped seven rounds. Dust2 saw insane players narrowly win their T-side 7-5 before posting a perfect CT-side to quickly lock down the map 13-5.

Moving onto Inferno, it was an even more decisive win for insane players as they claimed a 10-2 CT-side and a 3-0 T-side to lock down the map 13-2. New stand-in Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield was a star for insane players on Inferno, posting 21 kills and a 2.36 rating.
